“He has redeemed my soul in peace…” Psalm 55:18

THE MANY BATTLES OF LIFE

David fought many battles in his lifetime. Not all battles were physical. Some battles were deeply emotional, as Psalm 55 may indicate. Whatever the case, David was grateful that the Lord was always there to redeem him.

“He has redeemed my soul in peace from the battle
that was against me,
For there were many against me.”
Psalm 55:18

1. An understanding of the “battles” David fought

a) Enemies

i) There were many.

ii) These were wicked.

b) Different aspects of a battle

i) Physical

ii) Emotional

iii) Psychological

2. “He has redeemed my soul in peace”

a) David was kept alive by the Lord.

b) God’s redemption-

i) Deliverance from life-threatening situations.

ii) Miraculous Divine intervention.

c) Peace

i) Of heart and mind.

ii) Freedom from anxieties and fears.
