Day 156 – Psalm 55

“My heart is severely pained within me…” Psalm 55:4a

AN HONEST ADMISSION

David was no coward. When he was only a young lad, he had fought and killed the giant Philistine enemy called Goliath. But at this point of time David could not but make an honest confession to God about how he felt. It is no shame to have feelings of deep fear.

“My heart is severely pained within me,
And the terrors of death have fallen upon me.
Fearfulness and trembling have come upon me,
And horror has overwhelmed me.”
