“I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart…” Psalm 40:10

KNOWLEDGE OF GOD

Is the knowledge of God precious to you? To the Messiah the knowledge of the Scriptures (“scroll of the book” Psalm 40:7b) was priceless. Thus He opened His ears to receive it and kept the law of God in His heart.

NOT HIDING THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD

There were some who did not value the knowledge of God and thus disdained it. There were others who proclaimed they knew God and His word, but hid that vital knowledge to themselves, locking out many who need to know the righteousness of God. The Messiah’s approach was different. This was what He determined.

“I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart;
I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation;
I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth
From the great assembly.”
Psalm 40:10

1. Contents of the knowledge of God

The following are great fundamental truths about the Person of God:-

a) His righteousness

b) His faithfulness

c) His salvation

d) His lovingkindness

e) His truth

2. Challenge to respond appropriately to this knowledge of God (The Messiah)

a) I have not hidden (this knowledge of God) within my heart.

b) I have not concealed (this knowledge of God) from the great assembly.

c) I have declared (this good knowledge of God):-

i) To the great assembly.

ii) To the multitudes of people who needed to be reached (those who are ostracized by religious leaders in the great assembly).
