REJOICING IN THE LORD’S REGARD FOR US

Here’s another reason why we should rejoice in the Lord. The following text highlights the privilege and honour given to those who are called the Chosen People.

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD,
The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.”
Psalm 33:12

1. “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD”

a) In context this text is an obvious reference to the nation of Israel.
b) This was the nation privileged to know God as their LORD.
c) Israel was known as the people He had chosen as His inheritance.
d) The following text may serve as proof:-

“For You are a holy people to the LORD your God;
the LORD Your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself,
a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.”
Deuteronomy 7:6

2. This special blessing was extended to all the saints in Christ

a) He chose us before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4).
b) We are His inheritance (Ephesians 1:18c).
c) We are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God (Ephesians 2:19).
d) We are the holy temple of God (Ephesians 2:21).
e) We are the dwelling place of God (Ephesians 2:22).
f) We have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places (Ephesians 1:3).
g) We have been given the adoption as sons of God (Ephesians 1:5).
h) We have full redemption in and through Christ (Ephesians 1:7).

We have every reason to rejoice in the Lord’s special regard for us as His people!
