“Know that the LORD, He is God…” Psalm 100:3a

WORSHIPPING WITH GREAT KNOWLEDGE

The psalmist suggests that the worship should be offered with much knowledge of God.

“Know that the LORD, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.”
Psalm 100:3

1. “Know”

a) This was a very strong emphasis of:-

i) Moses

ii) The prophets of God

b) Without knowledge:-

i) Worship is a mere external ritual.

ii) It is devoid of great significance.

2. Essential knowledge of God

a) That the LORD is indeed God!

b) He is the Creator God.

i) He made us.

ii) Man did not create himself.

c) God’s relationship to His people.

i) He is the Great Shepherd.

ii) We are His people.

iii) We are the sheep of His pasture.

3. Knowledge and Relationship

a) Knowledge of God should lead to a meaningful relationship with Him.

b) Through essential knowledge and relationship with God worship becomes significant.
