“Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. To this end I also labour, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.”
Colossians 1:28-29
THE PREACHING OF THE GOSPEL
1. All the apostles were committed to preaching the Gospel.
a. This was the Lord’s commandment (Matthew 28:18-20).
b. This was also out of conviction.
2. How was this done?
a. By way of “warning”.
i. By reasoning.
ii. By encouragement.
iii. By admonition.
b. By wise teaching.
i. Deep knowledge.
ii. Practical wisdom.
iii. Personal relationship with people.
3. What was the ultimate goal?
a. To help every believer to be mature in faith.
b. To help all believers understand the significance of faith in the Lord Jesus.
c. This faith has clear and definite ramifications in life.
i. Wisdom may be found.
ii. Strength may be obtained.
iii. A more meaningful lifestyle is more than possible.
4. Paul’s personal testimony.
a. He laboured diligently.
b. He was conscious of the power of God working mightily in him.
c. This is also possible for every believer.
