WHAT IF GOD IS NOT WITH US

1. Sin will prevail

2. Degeneration will take place

3. Destruction will befall the country   (Isaiah 1-6)

WHY IS GOD NOT WITH US?

1. People rebel against God

2. They forsake Him

3. They choose the path of ruinous sin

a) Corruption   (Isaiah 5:20)
b) Injustice   (Isaiah 5:23)
c) Worldliness   (Isaiah 3:16-26)
d) Wealth   (Isaiah 2:7)
e) Wine   (Isaiah 5:22)

WHY HAVE WE NOT LEARNED FROM OUR PAST?

1. History has many lessons to teach us

a) Success
b) Failure

2. We do not seem to learn well the lessons of life

a) We do not remember
b) We repeat the same mistakes
c) We make things worse   (Psalm 78)

IMMANUEL- GOD WITH US

1. Immanuel would be one of the names of God’s Redeemer

a) His name means- “God with us”
b) There is great significance

2. How does this work in real-life?

a) Jesus would be given a human body and nature  (John 1:14; Philippians 2; Hebrews 2)
b) He would experience what we go through in life only without sin

3. In His ministry on earth

a) Jesus would identify with mankind
b) He would do a number of things: –
i) He would teach people what God is like
ii) He would draw people to God
iii) He would come to the assistance of those in need

2. He is to be appreciated

3. He is to be followed

4. He is to be adored and worshipped

5. He is to be proclaimed
