RUINOUS RESULTS OF SIN

1. With reference to God

a) Rebellion   (Isaiah 1:2)
b) Forsaken the Lord   (Isaiah 1:4)
c) Turned away backward   (Isaiah 1:4)
d) Empty religious practices   (Isaiah 1:10-16)

2. With reference to the country

a) Desolation   (Isaiah 1:7)
b) Overthrown   (Isaiah 1:7)

3. With reference to the people

a) Murderers   (Isaiah 1:21)
b) Thieves   (Isaiah 1:23)
c) No concern for the oppressed   (Isaiah 1:23)

REDEMPTION-PLAN OF GOD REVEALED

1. The anger of God is made known   (Isaiah 5:25; 9:12, 17, 21; 10:4)

2. Woe pronounced on the unrepentant   (Isaiah 5:18, 20, 21, 22)

3. The Promise of redemption is given   (Isaiah 1:27)

REVELATION OF WHAT GOD WILL DO

1. Cleansing offered   (Isaiah 1:18)

a) Filth washed   (Isaiah 4:4)
b) Purged   (Isaiah 4:4)

2. Purging (of alloy and dross)   (Isaiah 1:25)

a) Association
b) Affectation

3. Restoration of Zion

a) City of righteousness   (Isaiah 1:26)
b) The faithful city   (Isaiah 1:27)
c) A shade from the heat   (Isaiah 4:6)
d) A place of refuge   (Isaiah 4:6)
e) A shelter from the storm   (Isaiah 4:6)
f) Zion will be established one day   (Isaiah 2:1-4)

REDEEMER SENT BY THE LORD

1. He will be born of a virgin   (Isaiah 7:14)

2. He will be called Immanuel   (Isaiah 7:14)

3. He will sit on the throne of David   (Isaiah 9:6-7)

4. He will have the fullness of the Spirit   (Isaiah 11:2)
