1. The Messiah-Servant

a) He shall deal prudently          Isaiah 52:13

i) Wisdom

ii) Discernment

b) He shall be exalted

c) He shall be extolled

d) He shall be very high          Isaiah 52:13 (Cf. Philippians 2:5-11)

2. The suffering of the Messiah

a) Many will be astonished          Isaiah 52:14a

i) The disciples did not fully comprehend          Luke 18:31-34

ii) Some could not accept the thought of Jesus suffering          Matthew 16:21-26

b) Visage marred more than any man          Isaiah 52:14b

c) His form more than the sons of men          Isaiah 52:14c

d) The physical suffering of Jesus was foretold          Matthew 27:26-31

3. Results of Christ’s suffering for the sins of mankind

a) He will sprinkle many nations          Isaiah 52:15a

b) Kings will be speechless before Him          Isaiah 52:15b

ii) They shall consider
