"Creation itself also will be delivered..."

Text: Romans 8:21

GRAPPLING WITH PRINCIPLES OF LIFE

Not everybody is able to comprehend the profound principles of “futility” and “hope”. Nevertheless, they are principles of life that govern all creation. If the first principle of “futility” is all we have then we will find life most depressing. But if we do not understand the principle of hope deeply, then we will continue to find life baffling

APPRECIATING THE PRINCIPLE OF “SUBJECTION TO HOPE”

Let us seek to further fathom Paul’s teaching on this subject.

“Because the creation itself also will be delivered from
the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty
of the children of God.”
Romans 8:21

1. The Bondage of corruption

a) Sin has corrupted all mankind.
b) Sin and its corrupting influence is well described as “bondage”.
c) No matter how noble our aspirations may be, the danger of corruption is all too real.

2. The Hope of deliverance

a) This hope is based on the promises of God.
b) This hope is strengthened by the exercise of faith in the promises of God.
c) The nature of this hope may be summarized as:-
i) Deliverance from the bondage of corruption.
ii) Deliverance to glorious liberty.

3. Children of God

a) Every child of God may have this hope
i) Of one day being freed from sin’s corrupting influence.
ii) It involves ‘final deliverance’.
b) Every child of God should develop this sense of hope

This hope brings much power to life and ministry!
