"And they did not repent"

Text: Revelation 9:21

THE VISION OF THE WICKED ARMY

John saw the battle these four mighty fallen angels would initiate. The war they would wage against mankind would be devastating.

“And thus I saw the horses in the vision:
those who sat on them had breastplates
of fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulfur yellow;
and the heads of the horses were like the heads of lions;
and out of their mouths came fire, smoke, and brimstone.
By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed—
by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone
which came out of their mouths.
For their power is in their mouth and in their tails;
for their tails are like serpents, having heads;
and with them they do harm.
But the rest of mankind,
who were not killed by these plagues,
did not repent of the works of their hands,
that they should not worship demons,
and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood,
which can neither see nor hear nor walk.
And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries
or their sexual immorality or their thefts.”
Revelation 9:17-21

1. The vision of the horses.

a) Their heads
They were compared to lions.

b) Their mouths
They were fire breathing creatures.

2. The vision of their riders.

a) They had fiery breastplates.

b) Their colours include:

i) Red

ii) Blue

iii) Yellow

3. The plagues.

a) Three plagues were unleashed.

b) One third of mankind perished.

c) The following features are to be noted:

i) A plague of Fire.

ii) A plague of Smoke.

iii) A plague of Brimstone.

d) These came from their mouths.

e) The horsemen and their horses had similar features.

4. The survivors of these plagues.

a) They did not repent.

b) They continued to worship the work of their hands (idols).

c) They worshipped demons of “gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood”.

d) They continued with their dreadful sinful ways:

i) Murder

ii) Sorcery

iii) Sexual immorality

iv) Theft (small and large)
