"You have kept My command to persevere"

Text: Revelation 3:10

THE HOUR OF TRIAL

The Lord Jesus forewarned His disciples of trials and tribulation to come in the End Times. A similar word of warning was given to the Church in Philadelphia concerning the troubled time ahead.

“Because you have kept My command to persevere,
I also will keep you from the hour of trial
which shall come upon the whole world,
to test those who dwell on the earth.
Behold, I am coming quickly!
Hold fast what you have,
that no one may take your crown.”
Revelation 3:10-11

3. What the Lord Jesus said about “the great tribulation”.

“And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath.
For then there will be great tribulation,
such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time,
no, nor ever shall be.
And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved;
but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.”
Matthew 24:20-22

a) There would be “great tribulation”.

b) Nothing like it has ever happened before.

c) For the elect’s sake, those days would be shortened.

4. The promise of the Lord Jesus to return to earth.

b) When exactly, we are not given that knowledge.

5, The challenge of the Lord.

a) To hold fast what we have.

b) Let no one take away the crown of victory that awaits.

c) This is a command we must not take lightly.
