"A Lamb standing on Mount Zion"

Text: Revelation 14:1

THE LAMB OF GOD

Over and against the Beast of the Sea and the Beast of the Earth, God gave to John a lovely vision. John saw a Lamb standing on Mount Zion.

“Then I looked, and behold,
a Lamb standing on Mount Zion,
and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand,
having His Father’s name written on their foreheads.
And I heard a voice from heaven,
like the voice of many waters,
and like the voice of loud thunder.
And I heard the sound of harpists playing their harps.
They sang as it were a new song before the throne,
before the four living creatures, and the elders;
and no one could learn that song
except the hundred and forty-four thousand
who were redeemed from the earth.”
Revelation 14:1-3

1. God does not need to send another Beast.

a) In nature, a beast will be destroyed only by another beast that is stronger.

b) In God’s divine plan, it is the gentle Lamb of God who will have the victory.

2. Standing on Mount Zion.

a) God gave to Abraham an everlasting Covenant.

b) Time will not affect the durability of the Abrahamic Covenant.

c) God had chosen Zion and the Lamb would align Himself to the divine plan.

3. The 144,000.

a) These were people from Israel who were sealed by God.

b) The name of God the Father was written on their forehead.

c) The Lord had protected them:

i) From great End Times evil.

ii) From the power of the Two Beasts.

4. A new song.

a) There was a great song sung to the Lord.

b) This was a new song, inspired by the Lord’s hand.

c) There were harpists who accompanied the heavenly choir.

5. The Heavenly audience.

a) It was a song to God on His throne.

b) The four living creatures were there.

6. A special song of the Redeemed 144,000.

a) This song must have been inspired by the events of the great tribulation.

b) Those who have not experienced such trials would not be able to sing this new song with the same effect.
