"The seven thunders uttered their voices"

Text: Revelation 10:4

THE SEVEN THUNDERS

These were angelic beings too. They responded to the word of the 6th angel speaking to them.

“Now when the seven thunders uttered their voices,
I was about to write;
but I heard a voice from heaven saying to me,
‘Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered,
and do not write them.’
The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land
raised up his hand to heaven
and swore by Him who lives forever and ever,
who created heaven and the things that are in it,
the earth and the things that are in it,
and the sea and the things that are in it,
that there should be delay no longer,
but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel,
when he is about to sound,
the mystery of God would be finished,
as He declared to His servants the prophets.”
Revelation 10:4-7

1. What did the Seven Thunders say?

a) We are not informed.

b) John heard what they uttered.

c) He wanted to write what they said.

d) But a voice from heaven forbade him to write what he had heard.

e) We remain ignorant of what had been said by the Seven Thunders.

2. Clear instruction given to John.

a) He is not allowed to write what he had heard.

b) He is to seal what the Seven Thunders had said.

c) John obeyed this word that was given to him.

d) Some divine truths are withheld by God.

e) It is the Lord’s prerogative and wisdom as to what may be shared.

3. The mighty angel.

a) His legs straddled the land and the sea.

b) He lifted up his voice in an oath.

c) He swore by the name of God:

i) By God who is Eternal.

ii) By God who is the Creator of all things.

iii) This was a solemn oath.

4. What did he swear about?

a) That the events that God had revealed would indeed be fulfilled.

b) There would be no unnecessary delay.

5. This was the Interlude.

a) Prior to the sounding of the Seventh Trumpet.

b) The mystery of God would be finished (completed).

i) His will.

ii) His plan.

c) All that the Lord had revealed to His servants would be fulfilled!
