Day 53 – Psalm 95

“For forty years I was grieved with that generation…” Psalm 95:10a

GRACIOUS PROVISION

The children of Israel wandered in the wilderness for forty years. Apart from the fact that they were made to wander in the wilderness, God graciously provided for them, every single day, for the entire duration! Their clothes and their shoes did not wear out. They were adequately fed and protected.

SOLEMN WORDS

The following words are an evaluation from God concerning the state of Israel in the days of Moses.

“For forty years I was grieved with that generation,
And said, ‘It is a people who go astray in their hearts,
And they do not know My ways.’
So I swore in My wrath,
‘They shall not enter My rest.'”
Psalm 95:10-11

b) They had not learned God’s ways well.

3. God’s response

a) He was angry against the stiff-necked children of Israel.
b) He would not allow them to enter into the land of Canaan (“My rest”).
