Day 2 – Psalm 90

“Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.” Psalm 90:2c

GOD IN THE LIFE OF MOSES

Psalm 90 reveals the things that really mattered to Moses. We are not surprised at all to discover that God mattered most to Moses.

"Before the mountains were brought forth,
Or ever You had formed the earth and the world,
Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God."
Psalm 90:2

1. Faith in God

a) The subject of God is not easy to comprehend.

b) Moses was brought up with knowledge of the Egyptian pantheon of deities.

2. Discovery of the Person of God

a) It may be said that Moses "discovered" God.

b) He learned much about God in various ways:-

i) Through the history of his ancestors.

ii) Through special revelation from God.

iii) Through experience.

3. Firm and definite ideas of God

a) The concept of "everlasting".

i) This is a difficult concept to fathom.

ii) The word everlasting may be said to mean "no beginning and no end".

iii) The finite human mind will have to struggle with this idea of "eternity".

b) The existence of God.

i) He was from "everlasting to everlasting".

ii) He is the Only One who may be described in this manner.

iii) Long before creation existed, God was already in existence.
