DWELLING ON KNOWLEDGE OF GOD DISCOVERED

David loved his time with God. He would turn his mind to dwell on many things he had discovered about the Lord! He was always discovering more things, even profound things about God and His deep and mysterious ways!

A PROFOUND TRUTH DISCOVERED

The following text contains a deep and profound truth!

“Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants
You have ordained strength,
Because of Your enemies, that You may silence
the enemy and the avenger.”
Psalm 8:2

1. “Because of Your enemies:

a) David had many enemies to battle.
b) Because these enemies were wicked, they may be called God’s enemies too.

2. “That You may silence the enemy and the avenger”

a) The “enemy” is also called “the avenger”.
b) The intents of enemies would include the following:-
i) Subjugation of the defeated.
ii) Extermination of the conquered.

3. How God will silence the enemy and the avenger is truly deep and profound

a) He will make use of “babes and nursing infants”.
b) He will “ordain strength”.
c) These helpless little babies would one day rise up and humble the enemies.

4. Moses as a case in point (Exodus 1-2)

a) Moses was born at a time when the Pharaoh ordered all baby boys to be killed.
b) But God preserved him and raised him up to humble Pharaoh and to lead the children of Israel out of mighty Egypt!
