Day 251 – Psalm 64

“They encourage themselves in an evil matter…” Psalm 64:5a

THE PLOTS OF THE WICKED

David had many encounters with the wicked. He could tell how they went about plotting their evil deeds.

“They encourage themselves in an evil matter;
They talk of laying snares secretly;
They say, ‘Who will see them?’
They devise iniquities;
‘We have perfected a shrewd scheme.’
Both the inward thought and the heart of man are deep.”
Psalm 64:5-6

HOW MAY EVIL BE FOUGHT EFFECTIVELY?

How would David be able to stop these wicked enemies?

1. Physical warfare would not solve the problem of evil.

2. The enemies did not want to engage David in the battlefield for they knew that they might not be able to gain victory if conventional weapons were employed.

3. The best way to fight evil was to bring everything to God in prayer! No prayer made to God would be in vain.
