Day 138 – Psalm 52

“I will wait on Your name, for it is good.” Psalm 52:9b

UNDETERRED AND UNMOVED BY EVIL

David had seen much evil in his life. One of the things he wisely chose to do was to remain undeterred and unmoved by evil.

“I will praise You forever, because You have done it;
And in the presence of Your saints I will wait on Your name,
for it is good.”
Psalm 52:9

1. Options in life

a) David chose to trust in God’s mercy (Psalm 52:8b).
b) He also chose to praise God always (Psalm 52:9a).

2. “Because You have done it”

a) God was personally involved.
b) He will always do the following:-
i) He will bless those who trust in Him
ii) He will be against those who pursue wickedness

3. “And in the presence of Your saints”

a) God has many followers.
b) These are called “His saints” for three main reasons:-
i) God has sanctified them and set them apart as His own people.
ii) They are also known as “righteous ones”.
iii) They are further known as “faithful ones”.

4. “I will wait on Your name, for it is good”

David chose to practise the spiritual discipline of waiting on God and to trust in His good Name.
