“God is in the midst of her…” Psalm 46:5
THE SPIRITUAL SIGNIFICANCE
Much more than physical protection from natural disasters is in mind. God’s protection extends to other threats of life.
“God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved;
God shall help her, just at the break of dawn.
The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved;
He uttered His voice, the earth melted.”
Psalm 46:5-6
1. Special promises
a) God will be in the midst of His people.
b) God will help His people in their time of trouble.
2. Believing in God’s promises
a) Those who trust in the Lord shall not be moved.
b) There may be dark nights of trouble but help will come in time… “at the break of dawn”.
3. The rage of nations
a) Angry nations may pose a powerful threat.
b) Kingdoms may be mobilized and be ranged against God’s people.
4. God’s Power
a) He needs to utter His voice.
i) Just a word.
ii) This word has Divine Power behind it.
b) The earth will melt.
Nothing can withstand the power of God. Great must be our trust in the Lord! The spiritual application of this text is of great significance.
