Psalm 22:30 "A posterity shall serve Him"
Day 177 – Psalm 22
“A posterity shall serve Him” Psalm 22:30
SERVING THE LORD
The psalmist David concluded his psalm on a string note of service. This would be a fitting place to conclude the psalm! The psalmist has beautifully developed the psalm along the following lines of thought!
1. Suffering (Psalm 22:1-21)
a) Personal suffering.
b) Prophecy of the suffering of the Messiah.
2. Salvation (deliverance)
a) Hope for salvation (Psalm 22:20-21).
b) Help assured (Psalm 22:21c).
c) Heartfelt worship given (Psalm 22:22-29).
3. Service
a) Stemming from appreciation of the Lord’s hand of deliverance.
b) Service involving a posterity.
“A posterity shall serve Him,
It will be recounted of the Lord to the next generation,
They will come and declare His righteousness to a people
who will be born,
That He has done this.”
Psalm 22:30-31
4. “A posterity shall serve Him”
a) A reference to “the next generation”.
b) A commitment to raise another generation of people.
i) To worship the Lord
ii) To serve Him
c) A strong determination
It is vital that the next generation be carefully taught about what the righteous Lord has done in order to bring redemption to mankind!
