CONCLUDING THE BOOK OF PSALMS ON A NOTE OF PRAISE

It is fitting that the Book of Psalms be concluded on a strong note of praise. The word “praise” is appropriately found in every single verse in Psalm 150.

“Praise the LORD! Praise God in His sanctuary;
Praise Him in His mighty firmament!
Praise Him for His mighty acts;
Praise Him according to His excellent greatness!”
Psalm 150:1-2

1. Why should we offer praise to the Lord? (Psalm 150:1-2)

a) Because He dwells among His people in the sanctuary.
b) Because He inhabits the mighty firmament!
c) Because of His mighty acts displayed.
d) Because of His excellent greatness.

These reasons are by no means why praise should be offered to God. They function as reminders that we have a great and mighty God who is truly worthy of praise and worship!

2. How should we offer praise? (Psalm 150:3-5)

a) Through the use of musical instruments.
b) Through dance dedicated to the Lord.

3. Who should offer praise to God?

a) Generally
i) Everything that has breath should praise the Lord.
ii) As long as we have breath in us we should offer praise to God.
b) Specifically
i) Those who have experienced God’s salvation should praise Him.
ii) Those who have been wonderfully blessed should always have praise on their lips.

Let us determine to make praise a distinctive part of our worship and our daily life! Praise the Lord!
