A CALL TO OFFER PRAISE TO GOD
We have another strong call to make praise a very real part of our worship and our everyday life.
“Praise the LORD! For it is good to sing praises to our God;
For it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful.”
Psalm 147:1
1. A standard word of exhortation given
a) The reader is encouraged to offer praise to God.
b) Knowledge of God and faith in Him should cause the heart to desire to praise Him.
2. A special perspective given as to why praise should be a distinctive part of our life
a) It is good.
b) It is pleasant.
c) It is beautiful.
SOME REASONS THAT STIR THE HEART TO OFFER PRAISE TO GOD
The psalmist offers his reasons why praise should be a distinctive part of our life. To every worshipper who knows how to appreciate what God has done, praise ought to be readily forthcoming (Psalm 147:2-4).
