Day 129 – Psalm 105

“The word of the LORD tested him.” Psalm 105:19b

A TESTING PERIOD

When Joseph was in prison, he helped two men who were fellow-prisoners to understand the dreams they had (Genesis 40). Joseph correctly interpreted their dreams. However, the chief butler whom he helped forgot all about Joseph. His imprisonment was a time of testing.

“Until the time that his word came to pass,
The word of the LORD tested him.
The king sent and released him,
The ruler of the people let him go free.
He made him lord of his house,
And ruler of all his possessions,
To bind his princes at his pleasure,
And teach his elders wisdom.”
