“Forget not all His benefits.” Psalm 103:2b

THE BENEFITS THAT MUST NEVER BE TAKEN FOR GRANTED

Two benefits are highlighted in the following text. They are “benefits” that should cause our soul to bless the good name of the LORD.

“Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases.”
Psalm 103:3

1. “Who forgives all your iniquities”

a) David was swift to note that there was forgiveness with God.
b) What was in his mind when he mentioned the word “iniquities”?
i) The word “iniquity” must also include the other two common words associated- “transgression” and “sin”.
ii) Sins are committed frequently.
iii) Some sins are even habitual.
iv) Some sins are heinous.
c) Blessing of the Lord for Divine forgiveness is fully understood when we consider how God deals with our sins when we confess them.
i) There is atonement.
ii) There is forgiveness.
iii) There is restoration.
iv) There is total pardon.

2. “Who heals all your diseases”

a) Common diseases.
b) Dreaded diseases.
c) Diseases that threaten life.
d) God’s grace and mercy must be acknowledged.
e) His name ought to be blessed by those who have been graciously healed by the Lord.
