"My covenant which they broke"
Text: Jeremiah 31:32
COVENANTS OF GOD
There were a few covenants God gave to Israel. The following may be noted:
1. Abrahamic Covenant Genesis 15
2. Sinaitic Covenant Exodus 24
3. Davidic Covenant 2 Samuel 7; Psalm 89
4. Levitical Covenant Malachi 2
THE SINAITIC COVENANT
The LORD had the Sinaitic Covenant in focus in this text. The New Covenant would not be like the old covenant.
“Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers
in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt,
My covenant which they broke,
though I was a husband to them, says the LORD.”
Jeremiah 31:32
