"The LORD has called you"

Text: Isaiah 54:6

ISRAEL’S ESTRANGED RELATIONSHIP

Sadly, Israel had been drawn towards idolatry from the days of King Solomon. When the united monarchy became a divided kingdom things became worse. The Northern Kingdom of Israel had forsaken God completely. The Southern Kingdom of Judah had a mix of good and bad kings. The bad ones caused Judah to follow the ways of Israel.

“‘For the LORD has called you
Like a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit,
Like a youthful wife when you were refused,’
Says your God.”
