Bible Reading:

3 For I will pour water on him who is thirsty,
And floods on the dry ground;
I will pour My Spirit on your descendants,
And My blessing on your offspring;

4 They will spring up among the grass
Like willows by the watercourses.’

5 One will say, ‘I am the LORD’s’;
Another will call himself by the name of Jacob;
Another will write with his hand, ‘The LORD’s,’
And name himself by the name of Israel.

Isaiah 44:3-5

1. God’s Plan of Redemption was very significant

2. We have a new text to read

a) This is enlightening

b) This is encouraging

c) This is edifying

3. God’s Blessings are promised for His servants!

a) Redemption comes first

b) Relating to God is learned next

c) Reserved for Ministry as servants of God

4. Some people are reluctant to serve

a) They fear that they are not equipped enough

b) They fear that they will fail in ministry

c) They would rather be in the background

5. God’s promises are expressed beautifully in this text

a) The Promise of Life-giving water

b) The Promise of the Holy Spirit

c) This is found in Isaiah 44:3

6. To all who are spiritually thirsty

a) God promises water that will quench thirst

b) The water that He gives will not be a trickle

c) It would be like a flood on dry ground

d) We need not stay spiritually thirsty

7. The gift of the Holy Spirit

a) He will regenerate life

b) He will strengthen and empower for ministry

8. Blessings are promised to our children

a) God’s servants would be blessed

b) Their children would be blessed too

9. Let us be encouraged to serve the Lord as His faithful servants
