THEME: “Remnant of the house of Israel”
3 “Listen to Me, O house of Jacob,
And all the remnant of the house of Israel,
Who have been upheld by Me from birth,
Who have been carried from the womb:4 Even to your old age, I am He,
And even to gray hairs I will carry you!
I have made, and I will bear;
Even I will carry, and will deliver you.Isaiah 46:3-4
HUMAN AUTHORSHIP
1. Who was the author of the Book of Isaiah?
a) The prophet Isaiah
b) He wrote a very big and difficult prophetic book
2. What is a prophet?
a) A special servant of God
b) He brings special and direct messages from God
c) He seeks to help people understand God better
d) He prays for people in need
e) He is a righteous and holy person dedicated to serving God faithfully
HISTORICAL INSIGHTS
1. In the past, Israel used to be a great kingdom
2. King David established the Kingdom of Israel strongly and there was peace
3. But there were some kings that were wicked and they affected the nation badly
4. Many of them promoted the worship of idols and people forgot their faith in God
THEME OF BEING “A REMNANT”
“House of Jacob and Remnant of Israel”
Isaiah 46:3b
1. This phrase is a reference to the nation of Israel
2. The great house of Israel under King David’s rule was no more
3. Israel had only become “a remnant” (great population decrease)
4. Yes, life had taken a turn for the worse
A WONDERFUL MESSAGE FROM GOD
1. Does God still care for the remnant nation of Israel?
a) God was sad that the nation had shrunk so badly
b) But He was still very faithful and committed to it
2. How does God regard His people?
20 “When your son asks you in time to come, saying, ‘What is the meaning of the testimonies, the statutes, and the judgments which the LORD our God has commanded you?’
21 then you shall say to your son: ‘We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand;
22 and the LORD showed signs and wonders before our eyes, great and severe, against Egypt, Pharaoh, and all his household.
23 Then He brought us out from there, that He might bring us in, to give us the land of which He swore to our fathers.
24 And the LORD commanded us to observe all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that He might preserve us alive, as it is this day.
25 Then it will be righteousness for us, if we are careful to observe all these commandments before the LORD our God, as He has commanded us.’
Deuteronomy 6:20-25

d) God had been with Isarel right from the beginning
WHAT WE ARE DOING WHEN WE READ THE BIBLE
1. Bible truths are like good seed that can grow very well
2. The Word of God that we read will become planted seeds in our hearts and minds
3. If we are good grounds, then the seed of God’s word would become a harvest one day
4. Let us make the effort to sow good seeds into the Good Grounds of our heart and pray for God’s blessings

2. 先知是什么?
a. 上帝特别拣选的仆人

1. 过去,以色列曾是一个伟大的王国。
