ROYAL PSALMS
Psalms that portray God as King may indeed be called “royal psalms”. Typical examples of royal psalms include the following:-
1. Psalm 45
The glorious Majesty of the King is described. A royal wedding is used to depict great joy (Psalm 45:8-15).
2. Psalm 46
The LORD Most High puts an end to all warfare on earth (Psalm 46:8-9).
1. Psalm 47
The LORD Most High is described as King over all the nations of the earth (Psalm 47:7).
2. Psalm 48
This psalm describes the royal city of the King (Psalm 48:1-2).
IN PRAISE OF THE GREATNESS OF GOD
Once again the sons of Korah seek to exalt the Lord, this time in the context of the capital of His kingdom.
“Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, In His holy mountain.”
Psalm 48:1
1. The Greatness of God deserves great praise
This is the essential thought! God’s greatness must elicit the offering of praise from the lips of all who own Him as Lord and God.
2. In the city of our God, in His holy mountain
His praises should resound especially in His holy mountain, in His own holy city!
