CAUSES GROWTH OF THE BODY

Text: Ephesians 4

SPIRITUAL GROWTH

Growth is a natural feature of life. A baby grows up and becomes a mature adult. The Apostle Paul described how a Church would grow meaningfully. 

15 But, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— 

16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.     Ephesians 4:15-16

  1. Speaking the truth in love

a) The context is to be borne in mind

b) Instruction is first given and received wel

c) Subsequently, the members of the Body of Christ are able to speak the trut

d) Love is always present when truth is taught

  1. Growth

a) Growth takes place

b) Growth in every aspect is to be noted

c) The headship of the Lord Jesus is unquestionable

  1. Every part of the body does its share

a) The body is joined and knit together

b) Every joint must be working effectively together 

c) Much edification then takes place!

OUR CHALLENGE

  1. To desire our Church to grow further
  1. To do our part to edify the whole body
  1. To do all things with genuine love for the Lord and our Church
