SPECIAL ACTS OF MERCY

Text: Psalm 113

THE ACTS OF MERCY OF GOD

The acts of mercy reflect His awesome grace and compassion. The Psalmist noted some of these acts.

7 He raises the poor out of the dust,

And lifts the needy out of the ash heap,

8 That He may seat him with princes—

With the princes of His people.

9 He grants the barren woman a home,

Like a joyful mother of children.

Praise the LORD!     Psalm 113:7-9

  1. The Poor and Needy

a) They are often despised by the world

b) They are consigned to the ash heap

c) Few would ever give them a leg up

  1. God shows His mercy

a) He cares for the poor and needy

b) He seats the poor among the princes

c) He grants mercy to the barren 

i)  He gives them a home

ii) They have as much joy as those who have children

d) Those who have experienced the Lord’s mercy rejoice in Him

OUR CHALLENGE

  1. To rejoice in the Lord
  1. To offer praise to God
  1. To give thanks to God for His many acts of mercy!
