Jesus - The Saviour Of The World
Text: John 1:10-12
“He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.
He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God,
to those who believe in His name.”John 1:10-12
JESUS- THE CO-CREATOR OF THE WORLD
1. The Scriptures teach us that God is the Creator of the world (Genesis 1:1).
2. In this text we learn that God made the world through the Lord Jesus Christ.
3. However, the world does not believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
JESUS- THE MESSIAH OF ISRAEL
1. He came to Israel
a. To fulfil God’s prophecies of a Messiah.
b. To help Israel return to their faith in God.
2. Negative Response to Jesus
a. They did not recognise Him as Messiah.
b. They rejected Him (Mark 6:1-5).
JESUS- THE SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD
1. To all who would receive Jesus as Saviour
a. Race does not matter.
b. Age does not count.
c. Vast knowledge is not vital.
d. But there is sufficient understanding to recognise Jesus as a wonderful Saviour.
e. The Lord Jesus is believed in.
f. He is received as Saviour personally.
2. Response of the Lord Jesus Christ
a. He gives all believers the right (that is, “the authority”) to become children of God.
b. All who believe in Jesus are now sealed and guaranteed as belonging to God. Being called the children of God is an irrevocable gift! (Ephesians 1:13-14; Romans 11:29)
c. God receives them as His adopted children and He gives to all the Holy Spirit as a Seal and a Guarantee.
