(I) REASONS TO SING AND PRAISE GOD

1. There will always be reasons for us to sing and praise God

2. Learning from King David’s example

(II) ROYAL AND PERSONAL REASONS TO SING AND PRAISE GOD

1. Royal Reasons

a) In deference to David as the King of Israel

b) Hence the term “royal” is employed

2. Personal Reasons

a) David’s psalm reveals a personal appreciation of God’s blessings

b) Hence the phrase “royal and personal”

(III) A LIST OF REASONS

1. God grants strength (Psalm 21:1a)

2. God grants salvation (deliverance) (Psalm 21:1b)

3. God grants many prayer requests (Psalm 21:2)

4. God blesses with goodness (Psalm 21:3)

5. God grants long life (Psalm 21:5)

6. God grants great gladness (Psalm 21:6b)

7. God grants great mercy (Psalm 21:7)

8. God grants victory over enemies (Psalm 21:8-12)

(IV) NATIONAL REASONS TO SING AND PRAISE GOD

“Be exalted, O LORD, in Your own strength!We will sing and praise Your power.” Psalm 21:13

1. Because God is among His people

2. Because He protects His people with His strength and power

3. Because He has blessed His people

4. Because He has blessed with a good king
