O LORD, You are my God

(I) A PERSONAL APPRECIATION

( Isaiah )

1. You are my God (Isaiah 25:1a)

2. You have done wonderful things (Isaiah 25:1d)

3. Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth (Isaiah 25:1e)

(II) REFLECTIONS ON THE MIGHTY POWER OF GOD

1. With reference to the mighty

a) God can make a mighty city a ruin ( Isaiah 25:2 )

b) He can make a palace of foreigners to be a city no more ( Isaiah 25:2b )

2. With reference to the poor and needy

a) He can give them strength ( Isaiah 25:4a )

b) He can provide for them in their distress ( Isaiah 25:4b )

i) A refuge from the storm

ii) A shade from the heat

(III) A GREAT PROPHETIC GLIMPSE OF THE FUTURE

1. Alien enemies will be soundly defeated (Isaiah 25:5)

2. God will provide wonderfully for His victorious people (Isaiah 25:6)

3. He will destroy death forever (Isaiah 25:8)

4. He will wipe away all tears (Isaiah 25:8b)

(IV) A CHALLENGE TO MAKE THE LORD OUR GOD PERSONALLY

1. To own the Lord as our God

2. To exalt and praise the Lord (Isaiah 25:1)
