Behold, This is Our God

(I) BEHOLD, THIS IS OUR GOD

1. A national call to behold God

2. A prophetic glimpse of the future when Israel would appreciate God

(II) AN APPRECIATION OF GOD

(Moses)

1. What great nation is there that has God so near to it…? (Deuteronomy 4:7)

a) God’s Presence with His people

b) God hearing His people when they call upon Him for whatever reason

2. What great nation that has such statutes and righteous judgments…? (Deuteronomy 4:8)

a) God giving His laws to Israel at Sinai

b) God giving more guidance through “statutes and judgments”

3. Did any people ever hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of fire…? (Deuteronomy 4:33)

a) The marvellous manifestation of God at Mount Sinai ( Exodus 19-20 )

b) The giving of the 10 commandments

3. Did God ever try to go and take for Himself a nation from the midst of another nation by trials, by signs, by wonders, by war, and by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and great terrors…? (Deuteronomy 4:34)

a) God’s mighty sings in Egypt

b) God’s deliverance of Israel from bondage to Egypt

(III) A FRESH APPRECIATION OF GOD

(Isaiah)

1. New sense of gladness

2. New sense of appreciation of God

a) As One who saves

b) As One who delivers from death ( Isaiah 25:8 )

c) As One who will restore

d) As One who will bless abundantly
