THE CROWN OF PRIDE   (Isaiah 28:1, 3)

1. Reference to Ephraim

a) A leading tribe
b) Often used to refer to the nation of Israel
c) It dominated the other tribes

2. The folly of Ephraim

a) Pride   (Isaiah 28:1)
b) Drunkenness   (Isaiah 28:1)
c) Beauty   (Isaiah 28:1)

3. The destruction of Ephraim

a) Trampled underfoot   (Isaiah 28:3)
b) A fading flower   (Isaiah 28:3)

A CROWN OF GLORY/ A DIADEM OF BEAUTY

1. The LORD God

a) He will be that crown of glory   (Isaiah 28:5)
b) A diadem of beauty to His people   (Isaiah 28:5)

2. Mount Zion

a) A new Capital (not Ephraim nor Jerusalem)
b) The Spiritual Zion   (Hebrews 12:22-24)
