SINCE WE HAVE SUCH HOPE

“Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech.” 2 Corinthians 3:12

1. Content of our Hope

a) We have a New Covenant in Christ ( 2 Corinthians 3:6 )

b) Wondrous features in this New Covenant

i) The Holy Spirit writes upon our hearts ( 2 Corinthians 3:3 )

ii) Believers are living epistles of Christ ( 2 Corinthians 3:3 )

iii) We have all-sufficiency in God ( 2 Corinthians 3:6 )

iv) We are being transformed into Christ’s image ( 2 Corinthians 3:18 )

2. Conviction of our New Covenant Hope

a) We may speak of a deep and strong trust in God ( 2 Corinthians 3:4 )

b) This trust is made possible through Christ ( 2 Corinthians 3:4 )

c) We are made sufficient to minister for Christ ( 2 Corinthians 3:6 )

d) We have a glorious New Covenant ministry ( 2 Corinthians 3:8 )

i) It exceeds the glorious ministry of Moses ( 2 Corinthians 3:9 )

ii) It’s glory is glorious and not transient ( 2 Corinthians 3:11 )

3. Compulsion to serve

a) We are instruments of God

i) Writing on hearts

ii) Crafting out epistles ( 2 Corinthians 3:2-3 )

b) We are confident in our ministry for God ( 2 Corinthians 3:4-6 )

i) Believing in God’s sufficiency

ii) Drawing upon God’s sufficiency

c) We use great boldness of speech ( 2 Corinthians 3:12 )

i) We speak with clarity

ii) We speak with certainty

iii) We speak with confidence

d) We look forward to transforming our life ( 2 Corinthians 3:18 )

i) From glory to glory

ii) Into the image of Christ

iii) This is a special ministry of the Holy Spirit
