WITHOUT FAITH IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE GOD

Text: Hebrews 11
5 July 2026

A TRADITIONAL FAITH

Many will speak of possessing faith in God. There even seems to be proof of faith in life. Church attendance and general service appear to be satisfactory. But how does God view our faith?

By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.     Hebrews 11:5-6

  1. The Testimony of Enoch’s Faith in God

a) “That he pleased God”

b) What did he do to have this word spoken about him by God Himself!

  1. What is God looking for?

a) God is looking for Faith that is truly pleasing to Him

b) Can we say that we have a Faith that truly pleases God?

  1. What is certainly NOT pleasing to God

a) When faith is just another bit of knowledge about God

b) When faith is dormant

c) When faith does not result in a consistent walk with God

“And Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him”     Genesis 5:24

 A FAITH THAT PLEASES GOD

  1. A Genuine Faith
  1. A Growing Faith
  1. A Glowing Faith

These marks appear obviously in the life of a person who has a faith that pleases God.
