YOUR FAITH GROWS EXCEEDINGLY

Text: 2 Thessalonians 1

OUR FAITH WAS MEANT TO GROW

Our Faith in the Lord was meant to grow. It was never meant to become stale and stagnant. One clear example of good growth was the new Thessalonian Church.

3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other,

4 so that we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure, 

5 which is manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer.     2 Thessalonians 1:3-5

  1. Praise for the Thessalonians church

a) Because their “faith grows exceedingly”

b) This caused Paul and his team to feel bound to give thanks to God!

  1. Proof of outstanding faith in God

a) The fruit of love was evidently displayed

b) There was “patience and faith” amidst persecutions and tribulations

  1. People who were counted worthy of the kingdom of God

a) They had heard about the Kingdom of God

b) They had to endure much for the Kingdom’s sake

OUR CHALLENGE

  1. To grow our faith in the Lord
  1. To walk worthy of our Calling into the Kingdom of God
  1. To be inspired to continue to bear fruit for the Lord!
