THAT WILL I SEEK

THE THINGS PEOPLE CHASE AFTER

People seek different things in life. The things most seek after would be wealth, power, success and a long life. David was king in ancient Israel and he had all of the common things in life. He wrote Psalm 27 and shared the thing he desired most in his life!

4 One thing I have desired of the LORD,

That will I seek:

That I may dwell in the house of the LORD

All the days of my life,

To behold the beauty of the LORD,

And to inquire in His temple.

5 For in the time of trouble

He shall hide me in His pavilion;

In the secret place of His tabernacle

He shall hide me;

He shall set me high upon a rock.     Psalm 27:4-5

  1. The one thing desired

a) To dwell in the house of the Lord

b) To behold the beauty of the Lord

c) To inquire in His temple

d) This came from a deep personal faith in the Lord

  1. The confidence that may be found 

a) The Lord’s protection

b) His preservation

c) His power to lift David up in his life

OUR CHALLENGE

  1. To seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness
  1. To find that the Lord would provide for all our needs in life
  1. May our hearts desire a closer walk with God in prayer!
