THE VISION OF THE SON OF MAN

DANIEL THE PROPHET
The Biblical Daniel fulfilled many roles. He was the top administrator of the vast Babylonian empire. He was also a prophet of God.
13 “I was watching in the night visions,
And behold, One like the Son of Man,
Coming with the clouds of heaven!
He came to the Ancient of Days,
And they brought Him near before Him.
14 Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom,
That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion,
Which shall not pass away,
And His kingdom the one
Which shall not be destroyed. Daniel 7:13-14
- The Ancient of Days
a) This is a reference to the LORD
b) This is one of many titles given to God
- The Son of Man
a) This is the Pre-incarnate Lord Jesus
b) He was called “The Son of Man”
i) In this vision He was seen in human garb
ii) The Son of Man is a title given to the Lord Jesus
- The glory of the Son of Man
a) God has given Him an everlasting dominion
b) God’s decree is that all should serve the Son of Man
THE SON OF MAN TITLE
There are a number of aspects to bear in mind:
- It is a reference to His humanity
- It is a reference to His Messianic majesty
- He is destined to be the King of kings
Let us seek to appreciate the Lord Jesus Christ in all His humility and majesty! May we ever seek to follow and serve Him faithfully.
