THE WORKS OF THE LORD

AN APPROPRIATE PSALM
Psalm 111 is an appropriate Psalm to read as we prepare to celebrate Bethany’s Golden Jubilee next Sunday. There are many insights as to how we may view the works of the LORD in our Bethany Family worldwide.
1 Praise the Lord!
I will praise the Lord with my whole heart,
In the assembly of the upright and in the congregation.
2 The works of the Lord are great,
Studied by all who have pleasure in them.
3 His work is honorable and glorious,
And His righteousness endures forever.
4 He has made His wonderful works to be remembered;
The Lord is gracious and full of compassion. Psalm 111:1-4
- The Works of the LORD described
a) They are “great”
b) Each piece of work is “honourable”
c) Every work of God is “glorious”
d) His works were done so that they will be “remembered!”
- What the Works of the LORD reveal
a) That God’s righteousness endures forever
b) That He is “gracious”
c) That He is “full of compassion”
HOW SHOULD WE RESPOND?
The psalmist himself shows us a good example of how we may respond as we look at the Works of the LORD.
- Let us take time to “study” God’s Works
- Let us find pleasure as we study His Works
- Let us praise the LORD as we share about His Works!
What God has done in our Bethany Family of Churches in India, Myanmar, Australia, Kenya and Singapore are examples of His Works! Let us therefore praise the LORD in the assembly of the righteous and in the congregation!
