I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH

BIBLICAL ECCLESIOLOGY
We begin a new series of Pulpit Messages. The doctrine is “Biblical Ecclesiology.” This doctrine refers to the Theology of the Church. We will be taking time to review this doctrine on the pulpit for July and August 2023.
A GREAT SENSE OF ASSURANCE
Thank God we have the Scriptures to fall back on. Growing a church is no easy task. That we have more than survived 50 years of ministry as a Church must bring to our hearts a great sense of joy and thanksgiving!
15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.
18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:15-19
- Our assurance comes from the Lord Jesus Himself
a) He declared that the Church is His
b) He went on further to say that He will personally build the church
c) He guarantees that the Church would not be defeated by the gates of Hades
- Our assurance also comes
a) From the fact that we are built on the Rock
b) That Rock was not Peter
c) That Rock was the Lord Jesus Himself
TAKING TIME TO REJOICE
We will be celebrating Bethany’s Golden Jubilee (50 years). We see much evidence of the Lord’s work in our Church.
- He has given us His protection
- He has given us ample provision
- He has graced our Church with His glorious presence
