SERVING THE LORD

Text: Psalm 119:17-24
1 October 2023

STEP BY STEP

The Psalmist began with lamenting his ignorance of the Commandments of God. He was then inspired by the examples of those who lived for the LORD. Their lives were so obviously blessed!

He determined that he too would attempt to walk in their footsteps. He began to read the word of God in earnest. He also hid God’s word in his heart.

Soon, he went on to desire to serve the LORD. This was a logical and natural development.

17 Deal bountifully with Your servant,
That I may live and keep Your word.

18 Open my eyes, that I may see
Wondrous things from Your law.

19 am a stranger in the earth;
Do not hide Your commandments from me.

20 My soul breaks with longing
For Your judgments at all times.     Psalm 119:17-20
