BEHOLD, THIS IS OUR GOD!

EXALTING OUR GOD

The prophet Isaiah teaches us how we may exalt the LORD our God.

O Lord, You are my God.

I will exalt You,

I will praise Your name,

For You have done wonderful things;

Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.     Isaiah 25:1

  1. The LORD is indeed our God
  1. He deserves to be exalted

a) He has done wonderful things

b) His counsels of old:

i)  They are faithful

ii) They are true

MORE REASONS TO EXALT GOD

Isaiah offers more reasons why His name should be exalted.

For You have been a strength to the poor,

A strength to the needy in his distress,

A refuge from the storm,

A shade from the heat;
For the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.     Isaiah 25:4

  1. God is a strength

a) To the poor

b) To the needy in distress

  1. He is also a refuge from the storm
  1. A shade from the heat

ADDED REASONS

Isaiah added even more reasons to exalt the LORD.

8 He will swallow up death forever,

And the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces;

The rebuke of His people

He will take away from all the earth;

For the Lord has spoken.

9 And it will be said in that day:

“Behold, this is our God;

We have waited for Him, and He will save us.

This is the Lord;

We have waited for Him;

We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.”     Isaiah 25:8-9

  1. Death will be swallowed up
  1. Tears will be wiped away
  1. Salvation will be given

We have so many reasons why we should rejoice in the LORD our God. May this joy of the LORD never be taken for granted!
