AN APPROPRIATE RESPONSE OF PRAISE
Daniel and his friends sought the Lord in prayer with all their might. Their very lives were at stake. Mercifully, the Lord gave to Daniel the needed revelation. Daniel could not but respond to the Lord with great praise!

Blessed be the name of God forever and ever,
For wisdom and might are His.     Daniel 2:20

DEEP AND INSIGHFUL APPRECIATION
Daniel went on to describe wonderful insights about the Lord!

1. The sovereign power of God

a) He changes the times and the seasons

b) He removes kings and raises up kings     Daniel 2:21

2. The Giver of wisdom

a) He gives wisdom to the wise

b) Knowledge to those who have understanding

c) He reveals deep and secret things

d) He knows what is in the darkness

e) Light dwells with Him     Daniel 2:21-22

PERSONAL THANKSGIVING
Daniel could not just formally offer praise to God. He went deeper into offering personal thanksgiving.

1. Appreciation of a faith relationship with God

a) As “The God of my fathers”

b) As deserving of receiving thanks and praise

2. Appreciation of the revelation of deep truths

a) Giving wisdom and might
b) Making known what has been requested in prayer

c) Made known the king’s demand (or their lives would have been forfeit)

IN SEARCH OF DEEPER WISDOM
Daniel’s insightful prayer helps us to understand the following things:

1. Basic wisdom

a) There must be the search for basic wisdom (Proverbs 1-5).

b) Knowledge and wisdom must be desired and sought after

2. Deep wisdom

a) Daniel had done his part in searching for wisdom

b) He was now ready for God to reveal and teach him greater and deeper truths.

Only after the individual has done his part in searching for wisdom could there be hope for further wisdom! Let us determine to be a seeker of wisdom!
