END OF THE SERIES OF PULPIT MESSAGES

We have come to the end of the series of Pulpit Message on the theme “Seek My Face.” Let us continue to seek the Lord’s face even though we will be concluding this series of messages.

AFFLICTIONS IN LIFE

There will be times when may have to face “afflictions” in our life. The Psalmist reflected on the afflictions he had to face and endure (Psalm 119:50, 7, 71).

  1. He did not question the Lord for the afflictions he suffered
  1. He looked deep inside his heart and he began to appreciate why he suffered afflictions

a. He had gone astray from the Lord Psalm 119:67

b. In faithfulness God had afflicted him Psalm 119:75

DEEP LESSONS LEARNED THROUGH SEEKING GOD AMID AFFLICTIONS

What are deep lessons we may learn as we seek the Lord with all our heart?

  1. We will learn deep lessons when we search for God in the Scriptures

a. The Psalmist sought the Lord in the Scriptures

b. He searched the Scriptures diligently

c. This is a vital lesson that we must learn too

  1. Lessons from the Scriptures

a. We will find hope Psalm 119:49

b. We will find comfort Psalm 119:50

c. We will find life Psalm 119:51

d. We will find a song to cheer our heart Psalm 119:54

e. We will discover how good God is Psalm 119:68

f. We will find deeper understanding Psalm 119:73

g. We will that His judgments are right Psalm 119:75

VITAL PRAYERS TO OFFER

The Psalmist found himself offering many prayers to God as he sought Him. The following may be highlighted: –

  1. Entreating the Lord’s favour Psalm 119:58
  1. Pleading the Lord’s mercy Psalm 119:58
  1. Asking the Lord to teach good judgment and knowledge Psalm 119:66
  1. Asking for comfort in God’s merciful kindness Psalm 119:76

Let us continue to seek the Lord’s face as long as we have life and breath. May we discover the Lord as the Psalmist did!
