THE MEMORY OF YOUR GREAT GOODNESS

(I) EXTOLLING THE LORD

“I will extol You, my God, O King; and I will bless Your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless You and I will praise Your name forever and ever.” Psalm 145:1-2

1. It should be our natural inclination

2. God is worthy of our Extolling

3. Features of Extolling

a) Blessing the Lord’s name forever and ever

b) Blessing the Lord’s name every single day

c) Extolling the Lord as our God and our King

(II) THE MEMORY OF GOD’S GREAT GOODNESS

1. The Person of the LORD (Psalm 145:8-9) (Cf. Exodus 34:5-6)

a) Gracious

b) Full of compassion

c) Slow to anger

d) Great in mercy (tender mercies are over all His works)

e) Good to all

2. The Works of the LORD

a) He upholds those who fall ( Psalm 145:14a )

b) He raises up all who are bowed down ( Psalm 145:14b )

c) He satisfies the desire of every living thing ( Psalm 145:16 )

d) He is righteous in all His ways ( Psalm 145:17a )

e) He is near to all who call upon Him ( Psalm 145:18a )

f) He will fulfill all the desires of those who fear Him ( Psalm 145:19a )

g) He will hear their cry (prayer) and save (deliver) them ( Psalm 145:19b )

h) He preserves all who love Him ( Psalm 145:20a )

(III) OUR CHALLENGE

1. To learn how to dwell on the Goodness of the Lord

2. To extol His great goodness

3. To always have in memory all that the Lord has done for us
