"I delight in the law of God..."
Text: Romans 7:22
HOW DO WE COMPREHEND JUST WHERE WE STAND?
It is possible that as we wade through all the somber and startling insights given by the apostle Paul, we might end up thinking that he was no better off after having believed in Christ. This is an erroneous conclusion!
“For I delight in the law of God according to
the inward man.”
Romans 7:22

a) We stand justified before God (Cf. Romans 3:24, 28)
b) We have imputed righteousness (Cf. Romans 4:6)
c) We have peace with God (Cf. Romans 5:1)
2. Our sin-nature
a) Our old sin nature has been crucified with Christ (Cf. Romans 6:6)
b) The sin-nature no longer rules us (Cf. Romans 6:7)
3. Our sin problems
a) Sin is powerful.
b) Every sin has potential power.
c) Sin will try and dominate the believer once again.
4. Added problem of evil
a) It is ever present.
b) It is closer to us than we care to admit.
5. I delight in the law of God in the inward man
a) This is certainly possible.
b) This is wonderfully true.
c) This is a wonderful sense of hope that every believer must hold on to for dear life!
